Have you ever cried out to God for help?
If so, you’re in good company. Much of the Bible is just that – people crying out to God when they are in a situation they can’t get themselves out of. Want proof? Just read the prayers and songs in the Psalms!
But what happens when we cry out to God for help and it seems that he is “delayed”? What do we make of the situations when we’re at the “bottom” in our lives and find ourselves drunk on the floor with a shattered marriage? Or when we find ourself in prison and wondering, “how it has come to this?” Or when we are in such bad financial shape we can’t imagine coming out the side…ever.
Ever been there? Are you there right now?
What happens when we cry out to God from these kinds of lows and God doesn’t just come in instantaneously and whisk the problem away? What then?
Mark 6 is there to help us with these deeply poignant questions. Listen in as we explore what God is up to when it seems like his help is delayed.
